Teacher Education Department

Welcome to the Emmaus Bible College
Teacher Education Program!

Somewhere in the world, school-aged children and/or adolescent learners are eagerly awaiting a teacher like you. And if you desire to be a licensed professional educator, we can help you achieve your career and ministry goals.

Our program offers five teacher license options from the state of Iowa, K-6 Classroom, K-12 Music, 5-12 World History, 5-12 Business, and 5-12 Psychology, with additional specialist endorsements in K-8 Reading, K-8 Social Studies, and K-8 Music. We also participate in a cooperative program with a local university that offers a specialist endorsement as a K-6 special education strategist. We maintain professional memberships with the Iowa Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and the Association of Christian Schools International.

Our program has a 96% pass rate on the state required Praxis 2 professional exam and our graduates go on to teach in public and Christian schools, missionary academies, homeschooling cooperatives, and in Christian camping outdoor education programs. Our student teachers and graduates consistently tell us that they feel very prepared to begin their teaching assignments because of the rigorous and relevant training they received from our teacher preparation program.

We invite you to come grow with us as we purpose to cultivate committed Christians who desire to serve their students and learning communities and exhibit professional excellence for the glory of God.

"You learn more quickly under the guidance of experienced teachers. You waste a lot of time going down blind alleys if you have no one to lead you.
