From the President

Dear Prospective Student:

Emmaus Bible College is a unique institution of higher learning! Students come to us because they want to be transformed by in-depth study of God's Word. They want their character shaped toward Christ-likeness. And they want to devote themselves in service to God. Emmaus students want to reach out to hurting people throughout the world. At the same time, students come to us because they would like to receive education in the field of their chosen profession. Though all of our students plan to be active in ministry service, most will not seek full-time employment in the church. In response to these desires, every academic program at Emmaus includes a major in Bible and Theology. And many of our students add an additional major such as Teacher Education, Nursing, Business Administration, Counseling Psychology, or Computer Information Systems. This allows our students to study toward a vocation, through which they will minister, while preparing for their avocation of service and leadership in the church.

Emmaus is also unique because of the quality of the relationships between faculty and students. Our faculty and staff befriend and mentor our students, challenging them to grow in their knowledge of God and His Word and deepen their relationships with Christ. Students eat with faculty and staff members in the dining hall. They visit in faculty and staff homes. We work side-by-side together in local churches. Our college enjoys an unusually high retention rate because our students love Emmaus. In a nation-wide survey, our students were significantly more satisfied with their college experience than those in other four-year institutions, including other Bible Colleges!

The best way to consider Emmaus is to visit us in person. I invite you to attend our classes, talk to our faculty and students, and even sleep in our dorms. I think you'll discover that Emmaus is where lives are transformed, character is shaped, and purpose is found!

Warmly,

Ken Daughters
