At Emmaus, we purpose to provide our students with the resources they need to get the most out of their education. Take a look at the page below to see what sort of things you can take advantage of as a student at Emmaus.
Our extensive Emmaus library includes approximately 120,000 books and bound periodicals as well as a number of electronic article databases. We also have an extensive children’s literature collection housed within the library to support the Elementary Education program.
A PC lab with Internet access is housed in the library. The Emmaus library is part of the OCLC Library Consortium providing students with access to resources at over 35,000 other libraries. Our library is the perfect environment for doing research, reading or studying! Just use our online catalog or ask our librarians; they are eager to help you find the information you need. (The library director may even let you into the chocolate stash in his office!)
In addition to our own library, Emmaus students have access to learning resources at five area libraries. Students may check out materials from Loras College, University of Dubuque, Wartburg Seminary, Carnegie-Stout Public Library, and the Dubuque County Library.
We have two computer labs available here on campus. The computer classroom is located in Smith Hall and is equipped with PCs, all running Windows 10 and available for student use. Additional computers for student use are available in the library and the Coffee Bean. Internet access is available campus wide.
Academic Support Center (ASC)
Students who need assistance in their studies are encouraged to seek out the Academic Support Center (ASC). ASC provides peer-tutoring services in writing, math, science, and other topics as needed. All tutoring is free-of-charge.
