Dear friends of the College,
The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) recently placed Emmaus Bible College on probation status because it determined that the college does not currently meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation related to “autonomy of board governance” and “sufficiency of financial resources.” HLC provided us specific recommendations to resolve the issues they identified.
On behalf of the College leadership team and the Board of Trustees, I want to assure you that we are committed to fully addressing the Higher Learning Commission’s recommendations, and excellent progress has already been made. Changes in our Board composition have been completed in response to HLC’s concerns, and we continue to strengthen our resource base for a bright future. This past academic year we experienced our third straight year of enrollment growth, and were blessed with record-high financial support for important initiatives such as student aid, academic programs, and facility development.
Our Board of Trustees recently met and passed a unanimous resolution to “re-enforce its full support of the College administration in executing the mission of the college, and resolve the concerns identified by the Higher Learning Commission during the accreditation review.”
We have posted some FAQs on our web page to answer some questions you may have. I would be happy to speak with you personally if there are further concerns.
You can be confident that Emmaus will continue to provide the high-quality higher education experience that students and families have enjoyed for the past 76 years!
