Master of Arts in Bible & Ministry
The Masters of Arts in Bible and Ministry degree will train lay and vocational church and ministry leaders in the skills necessary for leading their local church or ministry. The degree emphasizes the integration of Bible and theology with ministry and pastoral practices.

- A foundational commitment to New Testament church practice, including a plurality of leadership and the priesthood of all believers
- A consistent focus on practical, ministry-oriented assignments in the local church context.
- A proud emphasis on building community and camaraderie among program faculty and students.
Building a Community Online: Our Annual Colloquia
Coursework in this program is delivered online through our Emmaus University Global Campus so we can serve you while you serve your families and churches. That said, building a community of co-laboring learners for Christ is our top priority.
For this reason, all students in the program are required to participate in a yearly, weeklong, in-person colloquium at our beautiful residential campus in Dubuque, Iowa. These colloquia will overlap with Emmaus’ annual Iron Sharpens Iron Conference, and food and housing for all students will be provided at no extra cost.
For our international students, we understand it could be hard to get here each year. We will work with you in this, and alternative ways to attend the colloquia will be provided if need be.
Program Outcomes & Coursework
This program will equip ministry leaders in their ability to rightly divide the Word of Truth, engage with theology, develop in their personal spiritual life, and develop skills in various local ministry contexts. Coursework includes the following:
- 15 credits in Biblical Studies
- 12 credits in Biblical Ministry & Practice
- 9 credits in Theology
- Program handbook available here
Ministry Matching Scholarship
Online students who have enrolled in an online program or micro-credential can have their church or ministry support their Bible education through our church matching scholarship. Emmaus will match $1 for every $1 sent from a church or ministry, with a maximum of $500 per academic year.
