Minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

Overview
The minor in Intercultural Studies is a program of study designed to provide the student with the underlying philosophy of biblical missions, an in-depth study of cross-cultural life and work, and some initial training in adjustment and adaptation. Coursework for the minor can be used to fulfill elective requirements in a major area of study.
Program Learning Outcomes
The student will:
- Evidence understanding of cross-cultural adjustment.
- Evidence understanding of cross-cultural communication.

The best thing about my education was that I got a job right away in the field I wished for. I am currently a Middle School English Teacher and a houseparent to seven girls who are all from different countries and don’t know English. My job is hard, but I was more than equipped after leaving Emmaus. The best thing about my TESOL degree is that I can use it as a door to go anywhere in the world.
